Responding to the steadily growing demands on ESD floor coatings in the electrical and electronics, chemical, and
pharmaceutical sectors as well as in hospitals, print shops, and environments with a high risk of explosion, we have launched a new
paint whose electrical properties can be much better adapted to a wide range of standards and applications.
"AstraStat Typ ESD A" can be used on mineral-based surfaces, such as concrete, stone or wood cement, but also on insulating
substrates, such as PVC, Novilon or linoleum. The resistance to earth is ≤1x107Ω, typically in the range
1x105 to 5x106Ω (IEC 61340-5-1).
Properties:
AstraStat is a solvent based two-component PU paint and contains a non-ageing, moisture- and temperature- insensitive conductive
pigment. Its adhesion to most substrates, including difficult ones such as PVC, is excellent. Its highly homogeneous conductivity
minimizes the risk of personal charges (walking test: <10V). It also has a good resistance to chemicals and a high abrasion
resistance.
Conditions for application:
The 2K-PU floor paint is applied with a roller in a single coat. The floor must be level, clean, and free from grease and oil
(basic cleaning is sufficient in most cases). The paint is then applied with a short-pile roller. Its yield is about 5 to
7m2 per kilogram depending on the nature of the substrate. Because of their high absorbency, mineral substrates should be
primed with penetrating stopper. Sufficient earthing can be provided by one to two ground connections with about 2m of cooper strip
for each continuous surface. Any damage to the coating can be repaired by simply painting over the affected area.
Yield: 5-6m²/kg

Standard colors are agate grey ~RAL 7038, beige ~RAL 1001, light grey ~RAL 7035, silk grey ~RAL 7044, pigeon blue ~RAL 5014
(see color table).
Other colors are available on request.
The following are not available: transparent, white, luminous and signal colors.
